Hi. My name is Kim Karney. My passion in real estate stems from my well-rounded experiences and education that I have had in this field, both on a personal and professional level. I have been so lucky to learn the various aspects of this business through working with a lender, as an investor and as a property manager, prior to becoming a Real Estate Agent. These experiences coupled together have broadened my perspective on the endless opportunities in this great field.
I grew up in South Orange County where I went to Santa Margarita Catholic High School. After high school, I went to the University of Southern California (USC), where I graduated with a degree in International Relations and Business. Following graduation, I began my real estate journey and career working for Green Point Mortgage. Here, I learned the importance of evaluating the needs of my clients and the necessity to understand their own unique situations in order to find the best option for them. Treating each person as an individual relationship became my single most important goal.
In 2010, with my in depth knowledge and understanding of finance, I built my own real estate investment and management company. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to buy, sell and hold dozens of my own personal investment properties, which I also managed. Growing a business from the ground up, taught me persistence and it gave me great strength to persevere through changing environments and markets. In addition, it developed my ability to determine real estate value, often seeing value where others did not.
My business practice is, and always will be, centered around work ethic, integrity and honesty. The long standing relationships I have established, and will continue to establish, are of the utmost importance to me and are at the forefront of my everyday practice. What I have realized is that the market and the circumstances may change, but the people remain the same.
Throughout my Husband’s NFL career, we had the opportunity to live in amazing cities across the country including Scottsdale, New Orleans and St. Louis. In 2012, we made the decision to move back to Orange County, to be closer to family. When we decided to move to Coto de Caza, we knew there was no other team that would better represent us than Ken Bowen and The Bowen Team. We could not have had a better experience! This is why I am so proud and honored to be a member of this team today.
In my free time, I love spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and trying new restaurants. I have a wonderfully supportive husband, Mike, and two energetic, loving boys.
